Jisc are the UK’s expert on digital technologies for education and research.
Wikimedia UK is the national charity promoting and supporting Wikipedia and the ten other Wikimedia projects. Its mission is to help people and organisations build and preserve open knowledge to share and use freely.
Together they are collaborating on an project to bring the academic world and Wikipedia closer together. This will create opportunities for researchers, educators, and the general public to contribute to the world’s freely available knowledge.
Dr Martin Poulter, based in the Faculty of Social Science and Law in the University of Bristol, is the Jisc Wikimedia Ambassador part-time from July 2013 to March 2014.
